Hello all. Just got home from Atlanta after a BUSY day at the Blade Show. I just posted in the General Forum about it being a sensory overload and indeed it is. I saw knives, knives , and more knives! I saw plenty of customs that were priced right and several that were priced out of site. After walking the floor and looking at the customs I was interested in, this included handling and dickering on the price, I made the best buy I could have( In my opinion of course, yours may differ) I purchased a large Sebenza 2001 wood inlay, with ironwood. Man am I ever happy!! Played with it all the way back up the road, the knife, the knife!

I could have purchased a custom from one of several makers at the price, but after picking this one up and thumbing it a few times, and talking with Chris, I knew that it was going to be the 'benza woody! I had a 2000 model ironwood that I had sold several months ago and regretted it ever since. But know I have another, and just between you and me, I like the look of the ironwood in this one better, nothing wrong eith the other just like the contrasting stripes in the 2001 model. Best of all, I have gotten over my fear of carrying the Sebenza. The 2000 model rode in my pocket 2 days and never cut a thing. I can't wait to carry this one and actually use it, after all thats what they are ultimately made to do!

BTW, got to talk with Chris and want to say he is quite a gentleman and didn't mind talking even though he had no idea I was going to purchase. So....... HOW ABOUT THEM 'BENZA'S!!!

Hear Hear Art! Too bad I did not get to meet you. I think I hung out at the Reeve booth about 75% of the time. There were lots of choices to make at BLADE, but I came home only with Reeve Sebs

Art,

I know you regret selling me

your 2000 DIW Sebenza. But, I don't. I can tell you, if it is any consulation, I absolutely love it, look at it all the time, baby it. But it looks as new as the day you received it. I even got a new lanyard for it. So, it is in good hands. Not to worry my friend.

I have added a few brother Sebenzas for it too. So it is not alone.

Glad to hear you have filled the void at Blade.

Sorry I missed the show

. But glad you had a great time.

Bob,
I must say that this woody has taken me. I know the 2000 is in good hands but can't help but wish I hadn't sold it in the first place!
Of course if I still had it I wouldn't have bought the 2001, maybe. You know who to call if you get ready to sell, and I do also!! LOL

Mike,
Sorry I missed you as I would have loved meeting up with you. I was by Chris's table around 11:30AM Saturday. I really did enjoy getting to meet and talk with Chris, quite a gentleman! Maybe next year.

BTW Bob, just completed a trade for a large 'banza that has the satin blade and dual thumbstuds. Should be here tomorrow.

Pics! Pics I say!

We demand high rez pics of fine wood!

Congrats, Art! Nice choice on the Desert Ironwood. It is my favorite as well. I waited a long time for my 2000 woodie to arrive (16 months!), and was just tickled when Bridget informed me that it would be wearing my first choice, Desert Ironwood. It looks absolutley stunning combined with the bronzed raindrop damascus and bronzed thumstud and logo. I simply cherish this knife and hope never to make the mistake of parting with it. I would love to show you all a pic, but just can't get one that does it justice.

Blademan,
That description is stunning all by itself! The damascus woodies are in a class by themselves, no doubt! It seems like Chris had a damascus on display, may be wrong, and I handled a few of the CG models, but as soon as I saw the ironwood, before I even picked it up, I knew it was the one I would get! Some of the best looking ironwood I have seen in a while. Light and dark stripes throughout.

Guess I will go on the search for a CG model now. Oh well, there could be worse things to do!
