Hi, all.
This is my first outing in this winter.
I went to an abandoned mountain village in Nagano pref. with my friends.
As these houses are maintained by the volunteers formerly lived
in this village, life is quite easy.

It's very good and comfortable to have fire indoor.

My firemaking method is - well, bic lighter and yesterday's newspaper ... sorry this time.

Next morning we had a complete clear sky.
In the house the temperature was just water freeze level.

This is how I carry a knife.

Thanks for looking.

I am gonna build me one of them Iroris when I get around to building a rough shelter on my fathers land..... Looks like a very cool pit!

Than is wonderful.

Thank you for taking me on your trip.

Kis
enjoy every sandwich

The food menu was chicken stew with vegetable of winter.
Alongside with stew, sweet potatoes are being baked.
As Irori is just a simple fire, we can cook various things simultaneously.

Really cool. Thanks for showing that look at winter Japan.

What kind of knife is that?

Looks like a good time.

I would love to visit Japan. It seems like a beautiful place in all seasons.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

That's really cool that those shelters are maintained and open for use.

I have a fascination with Japan, maybe due to so many years studying martial arts. Thanks for the pics. I like the knife a lot!

Thank you everybody for looking and posting.
I've always looked and admired wonderful pictures of great fields of America in this forum (and of course wonderful knives).
I'm very happy if you like my pics and the fields.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the pictures and post. I really enjoyed Japan and plan to visit again to see more of the country side.
