A framelock will not fail if you have a decent grip on it. Neither will a balisong. Opinoins please.

No, the handles are not locked open unless you engage the latch which is not part of the frame but a seperate locking mechanism.

Its certainly not an integral lock rofl.

No.
Different parts involved, different unlocking mechanics, lack of spring in the balisong.
So, short answer, no.

Technically it is a frame lock because you're using the frame/handles to lock the blade, but when compared to regular folder frame locks it's a different concept.

the handles are not a lock though. the latch is the lock. without the latch it is no more locked than those austrailian knives with the really long tang that sits in the handle and your hand keeps it closed.

No It's not.

But either way Its not going to fail unless the pivot screw shears.

Not available to masses in Oz, like me, so havent had much expience with 'em.

Pity, because theres some bloody nice ones about.

Cheers :)

They are stronger than a frame lock with less chance of failing. Speaking of a quality balisong and quality frame lock. The balisong when gripped in your hand is the closest that you will get to fixed blade strength in a folding knife.
