I know this may be a question I should have the answer for , But I'm not exactly sure what is ment by a Build out??? :o

It's just a much of extra parts and blades and so on from other knives that Buck had left over from other knives that they made...

We just had this answered a few weeks ago . I searched and had trouble finding it . Its actually the extra blades and handles left over from a Limited Edition run . They could be very similiar to the Limited Edition models just released but not exactly like them . Buck takes those left over blades ect. and makes up a very small amount of knives to use up these extras . This usually comprises 10-20 made up of this model or style a clean-up of the Limited Edition model . DM

I'm of the understanding that the only way we can buy a build-out first-hand from Buck is to walk into the Buck store at Post Falls.

Too far for most of us to travel.

BG, you can get them off the Buck web specials site... Go have a look... They has some nice Buck knives on there...

Build outs are the best reason to visit the Factory Store! You never know what you'll find.

Here is one of my favorite Build Out's...

Several times a years we evaluate obsolete parts in the warehouse. These parts can be from one of the many limited edition/special projects done in the past and or parts from discontinued models. I like to call the result.....frankenknives! :D
I can say that its a fun project for me. It goes kind of like this, "hey look at all these cool model xxx blades! they would look awesome with a handle made of xxx and we have some of those handy. Lets add a guard of xxx while were at it!" Not all of them end up on the web specials page, it depends on several factors, especially quantity. I do recommend keeping an eye on that page, you never know what will show up.

I remember seeing the ranger buffalo native blade knives thinking that is exactly how much buffalo horn I have left over after making a 110 scale!
And in response to BG42, I convinced The Old Lady to go on a 5 hour road trip across the border and tour the factory!

It would be more like a 20-hour road trip for me.

:D

Guess I just have to hope they put more on the web page.
