Is a Delica/Endura blade swap possible?

I really like the look of the kahr arms Delica, but I don't want to give up the blade length. So I'm thinking about trying to modify an endura blade to have a similar shape but at ~ 2-7/8" and doing it in a Delica handle. But since the knives are different sized I have no idea whether the locks week line up.

I did some searching and I found one guy asking about putting a Delica blade in an endura, but it doesn't look like he ever tried and nobody gave a definitive answer.

So, is there anyone here with both that like tinker and wouldn't mind checking for me?

The Endura blade is 3mm thick, Delica blade is 2.5mm thick, so even on the remote chance that the tangs are cut exactly the same, it still would not work.

You could pick up a Jandura...

Edit: glossed over the "in a Delica handle" part :o

Plus, the Jandura blade is 3.5" which may, or may not, be an issue where the OP lives. Still, if money were no object, it might be possible to have someone like Boomer52 to an Endura's liners down some and make new scales for it so the handle would be "near Delica" length and have someone else cut the blade cut down to the size he wants. Another thing that might work would be finding someone to regrind a Lil' Matriarch to a straight edged wharncliffe shape. Doesn't seem like it would lose much in the way of blade length, it would definitely be longer than the Kahr Delica. Of course, neither of these is going to look like a Kahr Delica, which may be what he's really after.

Thanks for the extra input guys! Unfortunately I do live in a 3" blade limit area, so the jandura won't work but it's great looking, I'll have to keep that in mind in the future...

Custom sizing the liners and getting new scales made from the Endura might actually be an option, I'm wanting to do this partly because I really like the look of the Kahr Delica, and partly because I'm looking for a new tinkering project...

Check out this picture for the blade length diff. Not as bad as I bet you think.

Its amazing how such a small alteration to the standard Delica blade can create a totally different knife .
My Kahr is my favourite at home / after hours knife now .
I carried it at work for a few weeks and it was very capable of everything asked of it .
The only reason it's not my current work knife is my Hap40 is current flavour of the month .
I highly recommend the Kahr .
