I have the oportunity to buy a perfect NIB BK5 Magnum camp for $55 at an outdoor shop a few towns away . Is this a good price ?

Yes, buy it now. IIRC I had one that cost me more than 150% of what you can get it for. BTW, don't sell it like I did!

Considering that they are no-longer being made, $55 is a very good price for a NIB BK5 Magnum Camp.

Hmmm.... I think it would be easier for me to tell you if that's a good price if I knew the name and location of the store... yeah, that's it.... ;) No that would just be greedy since I own one already.

Seriously, sounds like a very good price. They must not be able to move it or something. You could offer them $ 45 to take it off their hands. :D

I managed to pick up two for $55 at a recent gunshow, but that was by far the cheapest that could be found lately. Most everywhere that I had been able to find them online was $90-100.

I woulf grab it ASAP! These are superb blades.

I paid around $80 for mine, and don't feel the least bit cheated. It came through for me in an emergency within a couple days of owning it, still earns it's keep almost daily as my favorite kitchen knife, and it's damn decent for stompin' in the woods too. The BK5 continues to be my favorite fixed blade. (other than the fact that it's a wee bit large for an EDC):D

Runs,
EDC with the Magnum Camp isn't so bad,,,,......give Robert Humblebaugh a shout @ www.survivalsheath.com . He makes a neat "slip sheath" for IWB carry that is VERY comfy for the BK5. I carry mine quite a bit;)

Can you post a pic of this sheath? I still have trouble envisioning that as a "comfortable" EDC when IWB.
Thanks, Mongo

OH JOY!!!!

I could carry my BK5 as an EDC work knife, and an Aftermath as a small backup/ gents knife!!

Goody!!

:D

The back sheath over at Mr. Humblebaughs site looks pretty nifty too.

Today, I received a BK-5 in a trade, and I'm REALLY wondering why this model was discontinued. I like it!

...Will???
