I'm asking because I recently bought one on ebay for a low price (70€) and I am having a hard time finding any info on it only except for the fact that they are no longer in production.
So far it seems to be a really nice outdoor and bow knife.

AFAIK, the PE version was a Japanese market item, made with Spyderco's permission, but never imported and sold by them in the US. That would make it "special" to some. Aside from that, it becomes a question of whether total immunity to rust is more important to you than edge holding.

well it was actually that rust immunity that made me buy it in the first place, that and the straight edge. i just wanted a solid full tang knife to drag along through dirt and all without having to worry. also, as I said, it was rather inexpensive.
thanks, it's good to know that I'm not destroying/using some prized collector item.
