Is a small sebenza 21 as smooth as a large 21

I have a small 21 and it's not as smooth as my large 21. Is my hand pressing the lockbar against the blade? Idk what's up with it.
 
I've found each CRK is different ... even two of the same model and same size one may be smooth as glass straight from the box the other may take a short break in period or sometimes one may just need taken apart cleaned well and a dab of fresh grease and it's good to go ... some the pivot may just be snugger ... I can't tell you why for positive ... but it's just been my personal experience.

now that being said for me ... my hands aren't huge but slightly above average and my smalls are a bit harder for me to open as smoothly because my mitts put slight pressure on the lockbar ... it took me awhile to find the natural grip where I broke that bad habit with my small CRKs.

If you like the knife I think it will break in or you will find the correct way your hand needs to hold it to open smoothly ... if it feels stiff opening with two hands then I would clean and reapply a small dab of fresh grease and it might surprise you the difference.

My small 21 is much smoother than my large 21. I imagine once the large 21 is broken in then it will be as smooth.
 
I started out with the large. Got use to it, then picked up a small. I didn’t think it was as smooth as the large either. But, after getting use to the small, it became as natural as the large. Since I prefer a larger blade, I carry the large way more than the smalls.
 
I don't notice a difference between the sizes but do with inlays vs pjs. Both my small and large inlays feel so much smoother then my pjs.
I'd guess that the added width changes my grip enough to make it feel smoother.
 
Of my CRK's the large and small are generally the same in smoothness around opening. The large are smoother closing (weight of the blade is my thought)
 
In general, across many brands, my experience is that generally large blades feel smoother than smaller blades. I have always supposed that it's just the effect of greater mass. But to channel Steve Jobs, I may be holding them wrong. Or I may just be imagining things... ;)
 
I hate the action on small 21s. They are smooth but almost too smooth and all my detents are pretty strong so I end up with action that I don't like nearly as much as the larges or other CRK folders. Each one is different but I've had at least 6 and most are the same.
