is BUCK's Alaskan Guide Series Vanguard Knife (S30v blade) available in toronto- canada? if any of you guys know of any store, I'd be very grateful. It's time I got myself one .

There was a recent thread about Cabelas not shipping knives to Canada as well as many US locations?

Ohhh, thats right... Knives...

Maybe wait until the new store opens up!
I would still try it anyway, see what happens. Maybe that customer service rep was confused...Either that OR there have been a couple for sale here in the Buck sale thread... Or there are alot of honest members of this forum that may order it to their address and forward it to canada?????........
and a few listed in online auctions occassionally. I scored one myself last night! Very reasonable!

I hope it was a nice score! The price sure seemed right.
Sorry I stole it on ya John! It wouldn't match your newest vanguard anyway ;) or any of the others either!

Jim,

You didn't steel anything from me brother....as you have stated a few times....I had other current wants that had to come first...LOL. However, one of my good forum pals sold me a Brass/wood 119...so the phenolic/Brass would go together nicely ;) .

Now to stay on thread topic....edsonbuck....if TexasT will not ship to you as you are not in the CONUS....you can have him send it to me and I'll forward to anywhere you want.

I know John, and I do appreciate it! I also forgot about that 119BR!!!! Yeah she would have been a good match!

;) I think you should just stick with the 192 stag knives ;) LOL

I can confirm that Cabela's will not ship knives to Canada. I e-mailed them to get the info from their customer service. :(

Thanks for all the help guys...
Sorry to confuse you Jim. Here's the whole story. I'm actually based in Goa. a small state in India. Although cabelas ships products internationally, I'm not sure it'll reach me without getting the attentions of our custom officials.( Indian laws are not very informative. you learn each new one only after they come knocking at your door, letting you know you've done something wrong, even though you've done it unintentionally. :-) ) I have a canadian friend from toronto who'll be visiting me next month to do some forest research work in my home state, so I though I'd ask him to get a vanguard along with him personally.
come september, I'll be spending about 4 months in the forest, doing research on Indian pythons. I'll be a lot relaxed in the forest if I have a good knife with me rather than a cheap chinese knife that I presently have ( you cant blame me for the chinese knife- NO GOOD KNIFE STORES IN INDIA - thats true) :-(
After spend a lot of time on the net choosing a good knife, I zeroed in on buck vanguard alaskan guide, even though it cost more than my whole months rent if you convert the USD into indian currency. I thought if the knife last me 5 years, it'll be worth it.
thanks again- cheers

Sounds quite interesting! But maybe you should be looking into a handgun too ;) or maybe a machete, at the very least a Buck 124 :D

I can see that you have excellent taste! If you can get one I would bet that you will love it! (it will be worth it ;)) Good luck, and don't forget we always appreciate before and after pics of the knife/sheath ;)
