Is all S30V made with the CPM process?

I was looking at my ZT 0350 and my Spyderco Sage 1, and my ZT labels the blade steel S30V and just about any other knife I have in that steel says CPM S30V. So is S30V like D2 and 154CM where they make it in a CPM version, or do some companies just get slightly lazy because everybody knows what S30V is?

S30V is only made by one company, Crucible Industries. And, yes, they use the CPM process to manufacture it. ALL S30V IS CPM S30V, even if not explicitly stated as such.

I think all the SxxV steels are CPM only. If you look at the list of Crucible datasheets, there are no old versions of those steels listed (for comparison, note that both CPM - 154 and 154 CM are listed separately).

Thanks Dan and Greg! That Crucible link was really cool because there are some pretty oddball steels that you won't even see Duane Dwyer and Farid Mehr using lol
