I typically smoke pipes (with pipe tobacco) in the winter, but when the car top or windows go down, they become a bit like a sputtering flame-thrower and have a tendency to catch my shirts on fire!!!

I'm looking for something new and am open to anything that is lighter and pipe tobacco flavored.

30 years ago I smoked Middleton Gold and Milds but, much like the McRib, they have been discontinued.

Important Note! THIS IS NOT A CONTEST!!!!

Please do not start guessing tobacco-flavored knife names like "Burnt Cherry" or "The Maduro Murderer"! Hahahahaha!

Dunbarton Stillwell Star is about the only one I’ve heard of with good reviews.

Well, just about everything Dunbarton is amazing.

I'm a pipe guy and I enjoy cigars as well. But I don't tend to mix the two. For example there are several pipe blends that include cigar leaf and I'd rather just have a cigar (because they're cigars).

But these got good reviews on the pipe forum I help run and were recomended by a friend with a good palate:

Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Special Reserve Robusto Cigar

I'm told the Dunbarton Stillwells taste like Lane's1Q. If you're into 1Q (goopy vanilla aromatic) then those may work.

It depends on the pipe tobacco you enjoy, that help narrow it down. Some good ones mentioned. I’ll add that Drew Estates Larutan uses pipe tobacco. If you like Kentucky dark fired tobacco Drew Estates has their Kentucky dark fired line, like smoking barbecue.
On the cheaper side you could try some dry cured sticks like Ramrods, Avanti, or Toscanis (think Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns) they have fire cured leaf that’s similar to some of the fire cured pipe leaf varieties.

Thank you for this. Plum Pudding is one of my very favorite everyday blends. I had no idea there were cigars too, I'm going to have to check these out.

I'm a daily pipe smoker. I enjoy a cigar every once in a while, but pipes and pipe tobacco are my main "hobby" aside from knives.

I've never been attracted to the idea of a pipe tobacco cigar other than the countless Black & Milds I smoked as a teenager.
If you like Dark Fired Ky there's always the Drew Eatate MUWAT and it's comparable vitolas.

Ever smoked a Toscano? Little Italian dark fired cigars..

My main pipe tobacco cigars were Captain Black. They came in original, sweet and black cherry when I was still smoking.
Probably some of the nicest tasting I ever tried. As a former VFD member I recommend a Nomex shirt when you are
smoking in your vehicle.
