Is anyone else having odd problems posting?

Every once in a while, I'll just get endless connection timeouts when trying to post in certain threads while still being able to post in others - even on the same subforum. I'm trying to reply to a thread I made and have been trying to post this reply for the better part of an hour now to no avail, but have successfully replied to another thread in that time. I get "website is offline" as pictured below which is clearly not accurate.

What's the deal?

Like, right now. Just made this thread and this reply will successfully go through, but I just keep getting that same error on that one thread. This isn't the first time this has happened, and I have used three different browsers and have moved and changed routers more than once, and still will get this issue occasionally. It just makes no sense to me!

Another thing to note is that other people have successfully posted in that thread while I've been trying to reply to it, which shoots down my thought that it was a server issue and that thread just happened to be on a server that was down. Very strange.

the forum is acting funny. I was trying to post a thread yesterday, and after ten tries gave up. I also tried this morning and it gave me trouble.

for me at least, it seemed to be the picture links to photobucket that stopped it. once I removed the links it posted.

Go read up about the CloudFlare service shown in your picture and it nature of your problem will become very clear. :D

"Only visitors in that geographic region are affected."

Oye. What crap this is.

I tried to edit one of my posts about 10 times yesterday and was unsuccessful everytime. The funny thing is I could post a new post in the same thread. Go figure.

It gets weirder! I can edit ONE post but not another in the same thread...

CloudFlare basically caches content from its customers' web servers in its own datacentres and serves the cached content to visitors of its customers' sites.

By doing so, access to content is faster because it can be retrieved in a nearer geographical location (assuming the site is hosted in web server off-state or overseas), and in the event the actual web server goes down, the cached content can still be viewed for a short while until it is lost in the next caching attempt.

What you are seeing is an error caused by the content not available in CloudFlare's cache. Not your fault, not BF's fault, just CloudFlare not being completely on top of things.

...i think.

Aw, don't tell me that... I need somewhere to direct my anger! I have all this anger and frustration over this and nothing to direct it at for sure!

Whose name should I be cursing into oblivion for this? I need to know!

I'm going to go kick some cardboard boxes in a sort of ineffectual expression of my impotent rage.

I've been seeing the same error all morning. It seems that if I'm trying to post messages with links to Photobucket I get the error. I managed to get one post to take that had a smaller attachment. Text only posts seem to be OK for me.
Certainly is a nuisance whomever's fault it is.

I've had a weird issue where I'll quote someone and my post doesn't go through. It will just load and load and never do anything. It's very selective, and only does it to certain posts.

Getting the same error when trying to start a thread. Not using a photobucket link, but am using an Imgur link.

Just an FYI

I was finally able to get around the issue I was having by splitting the post into smaller segments. I hope that helps anyone else who is having a similar issue. I don't think it's the content as much as the volume of text.

Still happening, tried a half dozen times yesterday throughout the day, and again this morning.

Tried splitting up my post per Comeuppance's advice, no joy. And It's only a few sentences and a single image link, not a novel.
