Just curious if anyone was familiar or in contact with Virtus Knives? They are a custom maker out of Canada.

I ordered a custom knife from them a few months ago, and received an email with an ETA right away when I paid in full for the knife. Knife isn't due for a couple more months, so no worries there.

However I did get a little concerned when I went to ogle more pictures because it seems like the Virtus Knife Website is no longer up.
I emailed them about 2 weeks ago to check in and no response, and also reached out on their Instagram with no reply.

Anyone in contact?

Thanks!

Did you end up getting your knife? I know the maker and just thought I would check. I saw the website was gone, googled it and found this thread.

No I never heard anything from the maker, never got the knife. Was able to get a refund through Paypal at least but definite bummer of an experience.

If you know the maker, would be interested to know what he says if you reach out and see what’s going on.

May be unwanted advice so I apologize if so, but definitely check out the retail giants for oddities and curios, things pop up all the time, buy from them you'll absolutely get the knife you wanted, or a steadfast refund.
I believe it's time to let this thread rest

I'm at the point in my knife buying life where I'd much rather give my dollars to support a smaller independent maker who is trying to do cool things and make unique designs than a "retail giant."

Thats why its doubly disappointing when the smaller makers fall through.

I can’t seem to private message you but if you can shoot me a PM I might be able to help with some info.

Canadian here, I sticked my hand to some random maker as well. Turn out though, the guy was a known maker in Russia, trying to live in Canada.

People like David Mary are independent makers in Canada. Grohmann is not a custom maker. They are a mass producer, buying from their retailers gets better price than on their website.
