Is anyone interested in a SAK sheath GAW ?

I've seen a number of GAW's on the other forums here , but don't remember seeing one here .
I recently finished a combo sheath a knife - flashlight that I call a BBQ sheath .
These sheaths are what I always wear to a Barbecue ( my personal one is for a Farmer )
I had the sheath half finished then just left it for months in my " one day " box , but it caught my attention and I decided to finish it .
It is made for a two layer 93mm Alox knife , Pioneer etc , it won't work for others .
The flashlight is a basic Led Lensor AAA one that I just buy in bulk and have spread everywhere around the house and in every vehicle I own .
Over Christmas I had a number of knives stolen and this sheath was originally made for a lovely Swiss Bianco Rancher that was very special to me because it came from a member here Gary Graley but it was one of the knives I lost .
I finished it and was going to use it for my only other two layer Alox a Electrician , but the Electrician doesn't have a lanyard ring . The way these sheaths are made demands a lanyard to extract the knife easily , they are a deep sheath and are designed to be tight to achieve good retention .

If people want to post up pictures of your two layer Alox's with a lanyard you will enter into the GAW .
I will judge the best or most unusual lanyard and the winner gets a sheath ( I'll throw in a flashlight as well because it only fits that exact light )

Let's see some of your lanyards , old , new , ugly ,pretty , beaten up , unused or just a piece of string :)

This is not brand new , because I've worn it a couple of times , but when your standing around the Barbecue in the dark , no one will know the difference .
The Electrician in the photos isn't included sorry :)

A lanyard simply with the purpose to pull the knife from a sheath or pouch. Doubt I'll every replace the knife or it's lanyard.

I'd use that sheath for either my Wenger or Vic issue or my AMEFA DAK for which I'd tie another Boatswain's terminal/diamomnd knot.

Great GAW Ken!
Thanks!
I just acquired this little gem and attached a blue and yellow lanyard And split ring. This is what would ride in the sheath should fate deem it so. Great work and concept. Very practical kit and frees up some much needed pocket real estate.

Thanks for the chance - I´m in :)

The lanyard on this nice knife is almost resting there for some years. I have it on there, in case I need a piece of string... for what else should I need a lanyard? ;)

Just kidding!

I made this simple lanyard - gallow knot - by my own. I was very easy and works great.

That sheath is such a great item. I would definitelly be a honor carrying it. :)

I'm in.

Here is a pick of my black alox cadet (bladehq damascus bead lanyard) and my silver alox farmer (homemade orange lanyard).

Here was my previous EDC rotation (I don't always carry the zippo just threw it in there for looks). Items: delica 4 and boker plus subcom, fisher space pen, streamlight sylus pro.

And here are pics of the EDC rotations I normally run now (with my new PM2).

Oh man I would love to enter this. I have always admired your work and would love to own one! Thank you so much for the chance!

This is my favorite two layer 93mm with lanyard. This is the normal lanyard I use.

This is one I use occasionally on this knife.

Here is the lanyard I use when going fishing. No I am not joking.

Thank you so much for the chance!

I love your sheaths, thanks for the GAW and the chance!!!
I have always wanted a nice lanyard with a fancy knot or two and maybe a bead or something, but square knots aside I am terrible with knot tying so all of my lanyards have been very simple and utilitarian. A couple of weeks ago my girlfriend's daughter was making some friendship bracelets and I asked her if she could make a lanyard for my SAK, so she did! (It's the black and orange one on the old cross, if you couldn't tell)

Not an entry.

Great GAW Ken!!!

Cap, is that a desert camo lanyard? That pattern is is of my favs for neckers!!!

I've been driving a Tractor for the last 14 hours , and I've been checking in to see the replies on my phone , but typing on my phone while bouncing along is impossible .
I'm back at camp now and have a real keyboard to use .
I have to say so far there is one lanyard in particular that has got my attention from the photos posted .
I won't drag this out to long , so let's say another day and the sheath will have a new home .
Keep posting up pics and multiple entries are encouraged :)
I don't sell any of my work , I just give it away to friends a relatives , but i love the idea of my sheaths going to homes that will use and enjoy them , if you aren't successfully this time chances are that there will be more GAW's in the future .

Thanks for the generous GAW, Ken; I always admire your workmanship on the sheaths you make, and would be thrilled to be lucky enough to win this one.

Here's my black Pioneer with a lanyard that I originally got on a modded Opinel from davek14. I've been messing around with figuring out the best way to make lanyards I like easily portable among knives that will take a lanyard.

We have a winner .

This entry caught my attention for a number of reasons .

It was the first :)

It includes a false Turks head , or Diamond knot , I'm never sure exactly what they are called , but I use them on my own SAK's since being introduced to them by a friend here

Also I've never contemplated how a SAK with a Bail ( is that the correct spelling ?) Would work in my sheaths because I don't own a knife with one .It will be an interesting experiment , I think they would probably still work well without a lanyard and would still give enough grip to extract the knife .

Thanks for the interest guys , and I will offer up a few more sheaths as time goes by .

Leghog please message me your postal info and I'll get the sheath in the post .

Ken

Congratulations on the splendid sheath (and flashlight) you won, leghog! Looks like you have plenty of candidates to ride in it. :D
Thanks again, Ken, for your generous GAW.:thumbup:
(Thanks to the entrants, too, for showing off their lanyards; I got some good ideas :p)
