Is Case still using damascus?

The last couple of catalogs I got from [a major Case Dealer] didn't have one damascus offering.:(
They don't have any new ones on their website either.

Most every Case knife I buy is damascus/stag or jigged bone.I usually get one or two a year.

Is there anyone on the inside that can provide some insight on this?

Thanks

Yes. Google Case damascus knives and you will see numerous dealers appear. I think some of the knives are recent creations. But I could be wrong.

Thanks Locutus D'Borg, but I was mainly talking about new stuff.I know there's already stuff out there.^That model has been in production for awhile.

There is no Damascus listed in any of their recent catalogs or their web site.

I guess it would be safe to assume there won't be any new damascus models coming any time soon,if ever. That's a bummer.

Does anyone know of any other traditional knife companies that use Devon Thomas damascus?

You never know. Case is always trying to come up with ways to sell new knives every year to the same people who bought knives from them last year. So they may or may not try another Damascus run at some point.

I want a peanut or swayback w damascus badly. Were these one time runs? Anyone expect more to come along? I want a dressier knife and figured trying out damascus would be great

I believe it was a 1 time run in 2008, 1000 pieces of each pattern, at least for the ones with the stag handles.

Boker used damascus in a Canoe a couple years back:

Boker's annual damascus knife is sometimes traditional, sometimes not. Kris (MT Damascus) has a few very nice ones.

After seeing Stitch's Damascus peanut I definitely want one.

Thanks it's a cool material, it really bites into what you are cutting, I would like to get another pattern at some point with damascus and stag.

You can still find some out there, they do turn up on auction sites, every now and then, and vendors still have some patterns in stock.

I have one Damascus blade...a little Boker+ lockback and it gets scarey/razor sharp!

I think they ran the single blade sowbelly I've got last year. I could be wrong on that though.

Guess I didn't I didn't do my homework well enough. Case did release some raindrop Damascus knives in years after 2008, including the single blade Sowbelly and a Copperlock in 2012. Maybe they'll come out with more in the future.

My guess would be Case will do a run of damascus knives when they believe it will sell well. I have one raindrop pattern and one random pattern and would buy a new damascus pattern in the Peanut and/or Toothpick any old time they introduce it. I'd like to see them introduce a pattern or two with mokume gano bolsters and liners.
