Is cedar storage ok?

Hello all, I'm new to pocket knife storage, and looking for advice on if its ok to store them in drawers made of cedar. Specifically in this case a cigar humidor (Thompson lucky 7). The humidor is not and never will be in use, and I'm 90 percent sure it never was. It is not airtight as it is missing the hygrometer so there is a hole in the glass door. I guess I'm wondering if cedar and metal can play nice together.
Now I do also have a couple chest style "top opening" ones that would be airtight if you also have thoughts on those. Also how about throwing a couple of those silica packets in there? Or does that seem unnecessary?
I feel a bit silly asking this, but i would rather be safe than sorry. Thank you for any advice. These were left to me and it would be a shame not to use them, specifically the cabinet one.

Probably is fine. I always have kept mine in a cardboard box...for yrs. Keeping away from moisture is always a good thing.

Don't feel silly. We all ask questions. You should be fine. I store some of my folders in vintage wooden cigar and wine boxes and never had a problem. I do line them with cheap black Elvis velvet though, just to make it a bit softer and showier. Necessary? NO. :)

I. too. throw in a silica pack now and then from the bacon bits jar or something. Not sure if it does any good....

Cedar is fine, and at least you know the moths won't eat your blades.
