It took me a while to remember his name and I did a search but didn't find the website he used to have for knife reviews. Does anyone have a link to his knife reviews?

Thanks,

Whoa, that's a name I haven't heard in a while! No info on website though, just hadn't heard his name in a while!:)

As far as i know he took the site down after his banning and hasnt been heard from since. Google pulls up some reviews he did on others sites, but his website is gone.

If you like being mislead, his reviews are great.

The blimp on knifetest.com is the new Cliff.

This guy prefers to remain anonymous. He shares the same misinformation as Cliff though.

Maybe the blimp is Cliffs son?

When I was first seriously getting into knives, I ran into Cliff's review of the Camp Tramp. That review led me to Swamp Rat and the rest, as they say, is history.

Whatever Cliff was or was not, he got me started on collecting some really great knives. And for that, he has my gratitude.

You might check over on Spyderco's factory forum. He was posting there for a bit just after his final "unpleasantness" over here.

As much as I disliked how CS would act, I will admit he was a freakin genius compared to knifetest.com.

hah, found the old website,

http://web.archive.org/web/20080609040755/www.cutleryscience.com/reviews/reviews.html

I don't know what happened with him and BF but it's none of my business and I'm not posting to bring up the past. I just wanted to check some of his reviews. His site had the biggest list of knife reviews and I found a review for a knife I was looking for. It's the Cold Steel Twistmaster, long ago discontinued.

I recently was given one as a gift. It's new unsued and it's sharpness blew my socks off. At first I thought it was sort of ugly and I was thinking it must be a POS but I was very wrong, after using it I'm very impressed with it.

I miss Cliiff, I admire how he always stayed polite and civil in a discussion, no matter how heated it got.

Since you brought it up, I feel the same. I enjoyed his reviews and I felt he gave me good advice.

I appreciated him. He tried.

More to the point he got me to think about what I wanted out of a knife, and whether this improved steel or that redesigned lock was worth the kind of fuss being made about it

He was an assclown, and was banned for good reason.

Urban Dictionary: ass clown

ass clown (ás kloun) n.: one, who, through the fault of his parents conception, is a skid mark in society's collective underwear.

LOL! And to more fully capture his true character, please add the following: self-righteous, narcissistic, rude, ignorant, deceptive, unapologetic, and insulting. The only amazing thing regarding him was that he lasted here as long as he did, but that was (IMHO) more a testament to the patience of the powers that be rather than anything positive that he did to sustain his presence.

No criticism of those who banned him because he earned the emnity, but i always liked him and enjoyed his reviews. Then again I took much of what he said with several grains of salt.

I agree. Anything he said had to be taken with a grain of salt. So does a great deal of the rest of the opinions/statements on any forum.

Stamp was not banned for being an "ass clown". If that were true, some on this thread would not be here also. He was banned for moderator/owner insult in the wrong forum; which was one of the few direct rules at the time. His existence was a tribute to this forum's tolerance for all views.
