I have the G10/S30V Leek and it's clip is looking crappy. I was going to sand it down, but want to be sure that it's stainless. Does anyone know for sure?

Is it really? I don't really like the easily-scratched black oxide on mine either. I was considering putting a stainless clip on mine, but that might not be necessary afterall. Have you actually sanded yours down?

No, but I will do so this weekend. I'm currently VERY busy with work and don't want to rush. When I find some time I plan on picking up some 1000+ sand paper and some polishing compound.

From what others have posted if you sand it slightly it gets a cool looking antique look. I will try that first. If I don't like it I will either sand it further or coat it with something else. Can SS be anodized like aluminum?

Martini, if you wait till Monday I will try to post pics. My first attempt to put pics here failed miserably. Do I have to put my pics on the internet somehow?

Yes, you can anodize SS, but it involves sulphuric acid and you probably won't want to bother. You might find somebody who will do a small item like a clip in with another batch of parts. I don't know anyone who does SS off-hand.

As for uploading your pictures, yes you need to. Try http://imageshack.us. Just paste the link it gives you into your post.

We have two shops that anodize here. I was not planning on doing it myself. I'm going to stop by and see what they would charge to blast and anodize.

Thank you for the info. I was missing the key step of posting them on the site.
