I don't know anything about Dep7 (Department 7?)
I didn't know Colonial had ever shut down.
They've continued "making" various knives. (no one outside the company knows where their factory is, or if applicable what US manufacturer they contract with to make their knives -- and Colonial ain't tellin.)
Last time I looked, they didn't have any recently made blades that interested me.
I did find the life raft knives they'd made c.1940 - c.1945 that were "misplaced" in a warehouse back then and recently found interesting.
However, they were/are way outside my budget.
I don't pay much mind to Colonial. If they come out more quality multi-blade traditionals (to include well made "clamshell" handle construction) at a reasonable price, that would change, of course.
