This stuff happened last November. AFAIK,everything is okay now. There is a 3-4 month lag in delivery of info that is posted in the magazines. This may be a contributing factor in your concerns. Hope this helps.

Look at CRKT's website:
http:www.crkt.com/
They talk about it there.

Though the event is over, the notion of writing to one's legislative representatives about the situation is not.

This may sound like a nonsequiter, but my biggest question about the whole deal is where are Kershaw's knives made? If they are made in Taiwan or Japan, the same Customs folks should be looking at their knives too. I could understand it if one of the Speed-Safe knives got an agent excited. Then again, if Kershaw's knives do come through Customs in Portland, I think CRKT should feel even more paranoid.

Kershaw's Ken Onion series of knives are made in thier plant in the USA. That is how they get around the import problems.

Well, if Kershaw makes the knives in the States, then obviously they are not going to have any import problems. That kind of goes without saying. If you are referring to the SpeedSafe mechanism and the Anti Switchblade Laws, Kershaw isn’t “getting around” anything. They spent the time and did their homework to make sure that under the law, these knives would not be considered switchblades.

This is not to say that every LEO would be aware of this fact, you could get in trouble for possessing just about anything if you’re being irresponsible about it.

Avenger, CRKT and Kershaw are not the same company.
