Greetings All,

I recently finished testing two very different Damascus (forge-welded) fighters by Rob Patton. For those interested, my results can be found on James Keating's E-zine MAAJAK WORLD @

Just click on the article's hyperlink at the top of the page.

I hope that y'all find the results as interesting and useful as Rob and I did. And please post any comments, etc.

Best Regards,

Mario

Sifu,

I couldn't find the link. Looked up and down the page a couple times. What is the text of the link?

Thanks!

Steve,

How're ya :)? And, please forget the Sifu formality- you and I are way beyond that :).I put that stuff in my signature for informational purposes only. We both know that titles in and of themselves don't mean sh*t- its what you can do on the training floor that proves whether or not you're a master of anything.

The article link is right at the top of MAAJAK WORLD, but here's the page itself:

Let me know what you think,

Mario

Mario,

You own that one too!?!

Of all the knives at Blade, two of the ones that I absolutely loved are owned by you. You must post pictures of your bowie/fighter collection sometime. Way cool!

You must eat lamb on a regular basis too. :D

Thanks for the great review.

How could I forget you Steve? Have you heeded my advice and started taking those suppliments and begun that strengthening regimin that I outlined for you?;)

Yeeesss, both the Patton Mandrita and the Hossom Duelist are mine :D . How lucky can one guy get?

Hi Mario, Its me.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you (and try out this funky new user name) for taking the time to not only perform the tests but for taking the time to write up the review. Thanks also to Jim Keating for all his support. It was extremely benificial to me to learn from your experiences with these blades and I look forward to more in the future. (I will also continue to sweat bullets:) ) As for the deadend website...well all I can say is sorry but stay tuned as the new one is under way and we have secured our url which I'll get out when the site is ready to go online. Its still premature to guess as to when that will be but I'll get the word out ASAP.
Thanks again and thanks to all who have taken the time to read the article :) . PS Mar, I'll tell you the story of the user name on the way upriver.
Best Possible Regards
Rob Patton

Hey Rob:) ,

It was a great pleasure to work on this project with you. I know that your heart was in your throat the whole time I was testing your blades, but you still wanted to know one way or the other. You deserve praise for that. Plus, your blades performed beautifully, and I think that we learned a lot from the tests. So it was well worth the effort.

I really look forward to our upcoming evaluation of the next generation of your fantastic Mandrita Bowie, as well as the terrific new clay-packed blades that you are forging.

Hey, just one more week, Man, and we'll be on the Snake River trainin' our asses off :D . Its gonna be a blast! And since I have absolutely no clue as to what your new handle means, I can't wait to hear the story :).

See ya soon,

Mario
