hi ,you all.

Is Estwing 26" camper's axe forged one piece steel ?

"The 26" Camper's Axe is the ideal axe for camping, hunting and farm use. It has a forged steel head with Estwing's patented Shock Reduction Grip®. The 4" cutting edge makes deeper faster cuts and easier chopping. Includes an embossed leather sheath." that is what Estwing describe the 26" camper's axe , does not mention to " forged in one piece steel "

what are you axe guys think ?

thanks

I have never seen an Estwing tool that wasn't single-piece steel construction.

I recall reading something about some of the larger Estwing axes having a tubular section in the handle. Found it:

I have th bigger rubber handled Estwing and I took the handle off to shorten and lighten it, and the rubber is covering a hollow tube, which is somehow attached to the neck of the head. I was a bit put off by this and now use my fiskars mostly.
I like the look of the estwings hatchets with the leather washer handles a lot though.

Figured I would post a stock photo of what it looked like...

... just checked and there's about 2.5 inches of material going past the weld, and the tube itself is pretty beefy too.

Not an axe guy but I have one and like it very much. For a while it was the only axe I had so it was used for larger tasks when I should have been using a full size. It takes abuse without a problem. Also, you can choke up on it with one hand and it actually feels and works pretty good as a large hatchet.
