I know a lot of stuff is not what it used to be. I know I have to lower my expectations. I know stuff is crappier and it costs more and that's really why this is not so off topic being in The RAT Nest because a RAT knife is something to admire because it's a rock solid piece of gear that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and a guarantee that you cannot beat...just my opinion.

I know this might seem like a minor bitch...but I have done something on and off for years and perhaps you have as well. Leave a soda in the car in the summertime. What in the F*CK is going on with companies? This is apparently a bad habit now that I have to break myself from. In the last month three new 20 oz. bottles of soda have leaked half of their contents onto the seat.

The first time, I thought perhaps my son didn't tighten the cap on a soda. A few days later I boughts me a new soda and didn't open it. It was out in the car for a few hours and vomited on the seat. I was like, "WTF is this?"

I have lived in this area all of my life, the summers are just as hot as they always were, it's not "hotter" here and I don't know about some of you that live in Tejas, New Messico or Arizona where it just gets SCALDING hot, but this has NEVER happened to me in all these years. Today, happened again. The last two sodas I am 100% sure they were never opened, the plastic seal was still intact.

We used to leave sodas in the floor of the back seat or on the seat itself, just a warning - don't do it.

Strange...

I think the plastic is a lot thinner and flimsier these days...trying to keep the world greeeen of course..less plastic..

And of course as a "side benefit", they are cheaper to produce. If it spills, you will just buy more and they know that.

EDIT:
And why are you drinking soda anyways? Buy a few CANS of flavored seltzer, you'll never go back.

I gave up on sodas a while back. All I drink now is water, apple juice and grape juice. Unless of course I'm sitting on pervert row in some low-class bar, looking up at some chick dancing. That kinda work deserves some spirits.

Just last summer I was doing the same thing. Forget a soda in the car and just toss it in the refrigerator at work when I get there, this has NEVER happened.

I know everything is getting cheaper.

Why soda? Caffeine! Don't like eating NO-DOZ so it is Mountain Dew or coffee at night and it's too hot for coffee lately. :D

Yea you can't really ask for a glass of apple juice in that situation...

:D That is classic lol.

Water, beer or juice for me. I honestly think a coke tastes funny when it doesn't have rum in it cuz I never drink it alone anymore.

But to be back on topic, yes the world is slowly crumbling and the US is included.

I've heard there are still parts of America that are...American.

I think America as it was created originally is gone. Actually I've never lived in that America, I've only read about it.

The America that was created is long gone.... The intentions and beliefs of our founding fathers has been lost many many years ago. All isn't lost though.

Next time order a bloody mary and try to attract her attention with the celery stick :D

that's not what they teach in school. the education system has degraded greatly over the years, too.

They actually teach in schools? I don't think I was taught anything of value. The effort to even get the information across is rarely there. Luckily there are some great teachers out there, but often they are restricted in how they can do things. I don't think I've had a single class period or class in general that talked about the thoughts any founding father had for this country. Just a quick overview of the different documents and when they were signed and where and what they contained. That is about it. History is incredibly involved and interesting and is seldom taught like that.

Somebody post a damn RAT knife picture before this thread gets too carried away with reality.
