I was just wondering about this, since it looks so much like a CQC-6.
I have seen someone post a side to side comparison, but can it really compare?

That's a pretty good question. Is a T1000 a rip off of a CQC6.

Some say yes, some say no. I prefer to think of them as thier own knife, inspired by a CQC6. It's shaped something like a CQC6, but holding one in your hand, it has none of the grace and attention to detail that a CQC6 does.

If it's an attempt at a copy, it's a damn poor one. My opinion only.

Here is a Link that has pictures of both together.

Do a search on "Farid" and you'll find plenty of reading material.

i agree w/john, if its a copy it aint a very good one, the CQC6 looks like it should cost 2X or even 3X the farids cost, just look at them, or is it just the pic??

I recently saw one for the first time, and immediately thought "near knock off". With the waiting list that Ernest Emerson enjoys (I hope he still enjoys making them) it probably doesn't matter if someone knocks it off since I doubt that it would affect sales of the real thing even if you could still order one. For those who want a six, only the real thing will do. One would think, however, that the knock off designer would employ a more unique use of green canvas Micarta and bead blasted titanium; that he would want to make his own design inspired by Emerson.
