I bought the ZT0801 and have been happy with it so far, then I saw a YouTube video about the problem with it's titanium on steel lock where it says galling problems will eat shear away the titanium??

Would appreciate some thoughts on this.

This video again? Seriously?

Not an issue with 801 since as you may not have noticed, it has a steel lock bar insert. Also, on an knife with an actual steel to titanium interface, if your lock is a bit sticky, just put a little pencil lead on it.

I've used so much pencil lead on sticky locks that the Sierra Club has me on their hit list.
Never worked for me...

What did work? I sell the ones that stick.

A while ago I bought anodized blue standoffs, LBS, and screws for my beloved 0560. After installing the new hardware the lock was very sticky but was not sticky at all before. Then I remembered hearing about people using pencil lead to get ride of the stickiness. Tried it and it worked like a charm. My other 0560 came to me sticky (bought used from the exchange with custom scales). After it worked on the first 0560 I tried it on the second and bam! It worked! I am 2/2 for trying pencil lead on sticky lock bar interfaces.

Take all Jdavis videos with a big grain of salt. He likes to make controversial videos for views and self promotion.

I prefer it when the lockbar sticks a little. That said though, it takes a lot more pressure and friction for galling to occur. That video has more drama than info. You should have seen the one he made a while back about a new camera he bought that didn't save video in a format he liked. I thought he was going to cry.
