Is GEC's ruby red bone much darker lately?

A couple of GECs I've been looking at lately are in ruby red bone. There seems to be a much darker shade on more recent production than older examples. Dye lots can change from run to run obviously, but I still wonder if I'm being thrown off to a degree by different images having different lighting, shot with different cameras, etc. Has anyone seen a new ruby red side by side with an older one to tell if the difference is significant?

Nate.....

I was just comparing my 2008 Pioneer GEC and 2009 Pioneer NF and if there's a difference there I can't see it..and then when I compare them against the 2010 Scout Tidioute, the Tidioute appears a little darker but it really is negligible.

Okay just found the 2011 GEC#72 Scout and this is definitely darker....great handle color by all means..but it is darker

Thanks Jim. It was seeing one of the 2011 #72 models that prompted the question for me. I like the darker shade better personally.
