I dont know how the set up works at Blade. All I know is the awards are decided and voted for by fellow knife makers, so my guess is who ever they vote for wins. Maybe there is still to much hand work involved to be considered as a manufactured blade.
I love both Hinderers and CRK's They are the cream of the crop in the Production/ semi custom knife world.
CRK has a full line of folders and fixed blades and pumps out a substantial amount of knives each year. Thats why its so impressive that
year in and year out they are able to produce the quality of knives they do.
I believe Hinderer will be introducing a new production folder in the upcoming future but for the most part its the XM-18 in 3 different sizes
and a few fixed blades. Done in small batches with great attention to detail and a lot of hand work involved. And I believe Rick hand
sharpens each XM that leaves the shop.
