I see many have picked up a CRKT Kangee or Chogan. Do you think this is up to the same quality and is as durable as the Lagana VTAC? Are they pretty much on par with one another in use and durability?

Although these two hawks are designed towards many of the same uses.....they are also very different and one may excel where the other lags behind. I do love my Kangee and I do believe that it is probably the best bang for your buck in the world of tomahawks today. With that being said, I'm rather biased toward the VTAC due to everything I have put them through over the years and still have them not fail.

You mentioned durability.......at very least, as far as the head on the VTAC is concerned.......you can do precious little to harm it in any way. The functionality and durability of the head of the VTAC is in a class of its own as far as I'm concerned.

The handle and attachment on the VTAC is very unique and I have written in the past of how well designed it is and the abuse it can take. However....given enough torque, you could break the internal bolt, but the head would remain attached and still be completely functional. I actually spoke with Fehrman just last week and they mentioned how out of however many thousands of VTACs they have sold.....only 7 have ever been returned for an actual broken handle.
