AKA, Have I lost my mind?

This knife started life as a Steelheart "E", from the Gundyman himself. I took it upon myself to attempt to flat grind the blade a little thinner. I also ground off the back talon hole, and reshaped the handle a little. All was going well, until I decided to get cute with the edge, and do a convex edge. The convex edge turned into an attempt to convex the whole blade. Whoops, wrong answer! I'm not good enough for that stuff yet. So, I recruited Craig Camerer to fix my mistakes, before the knife was ruined. Craig flat ground the blade thinner yet, handrubbed a nice 600 grit finish and epoxied and pinned new brown canvas micarta slabs on. Mosaic pins and everything. Even put a nice swedge on the blade. Yes, he even made me a nice leather sheath, with swinger attachment. :)

OMG!!!  Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. Especially like the nicely color-coordinated swinger sheath, a style not often seen. IMHO you & Mr Camerer executed a very nice recovery of a "mistake". :D

Actually, my flat grinding wasn't that bad. It looked kinda cool with satin finished blade and some black coating still showing. Craig really did a super job on this knife. So good, I may give him my Battle Mistress to play with! That micarta was given to me a long time ago. Not even sure of the color, or what it's original purpose was. It is a block about 1.5" thick, and had some holes drilled in it already. I think somebody was using it for a table or something. All I know is, the color is pretty nice.

TOO NICE!! Very Cool Danbo!

Now, even the non-pilots and non-captains among us can see the difference between variation and deviation.:D

That is one hell of a knife. Just frickin' awesome. While I have seen some nice ones in the past, that has to be my favorite.

It makes me feel good to know Jerry likes the modifications. I will bring it to Blade for sure, so you all can see how nice it turned out. It really is a slicer and dicer now!

As others have said, that is very, very nice. What is the final thickness of the blade with the modifications? It would be interesting to see how she holds up under heavy use with a thinner blade. It looks like it will be an excellent cutter.

Blade thickness is pretty close to original; at the spine. Now, the edge, that's a different story! Think about the edge on the Active Duty, and you're getting close.
