MAKED making in 2001,you can see the inferior work in the tip,many Chinese blade nuts think this one is genuine,but lacking polish,another think it is fake one by any possibility, who can give me do:confused: ubtless answer?

Hey Guys..

Lachine...

Looks like an Emerson to me,, however the grind marks on it are pretty strange..How something that bad passes through QC, I don't know...

Someone there not paying attention...

I've seen some MTECH knives that are very close. A couple in particular was a copy of a Buck Nighthawk(Nearly Identical) and a Chin made Mora, that even a Mora dealer couldn't identify as being China made other than it had no markings.

All in all though I would say it was authentic..I don't think a company in China would pass something like that, just for the fact they are trying to copy a knife.

Ouch, the edge looks pretty rough. I have a few Emersons, and the edges are polished. However, they were made in 2006. I've only heard of Commander fakes but who knows what those counterfaking bastards are up to anymore. I also understand there were some serious QC issues with some of his earlier productions folders, so the your edge maybe just that. Perhaps contact Ernie himself? What I'd like see from Emerson is a list of knives and cues to look for in known counterfeits.

i doubt its a fake, why fake a PUK? i dont think there is a lot of demand for that model nor really any of ernies fixed blade stuff, i know even the custom FB's dont sell for the $$ the folders do, not close.

so i think its real and either;

*QC was asleep when it went thru, or

*someone ground on it for whatever reason, maybe they were gonna sharpen the false edge??
