I was wondering if it is illegal to carry a knife on my person in the state of South Carolina. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes it is legal to carry a knife, fixed or folder, in SC.

Of course you have to use common sense. Carrying a 12" bowie might draw some attention.
I carried a 3.5" Spyderco Centofante III when visiting Myrtle Beach. Had it clipped on my pocket every day. Never had an issue. I'm sure you know, if there is one place in SC where you'll be close enough to a LEO for him/her to notice a knife clipped to your pocket, its MB.
Disclaimer: If you're under 18 check local laws. Do not carry on any school property. While carry might be legal police might take a different view of it if you are "brandishing".
