is it legal to carry a bottle of cologne on a domestic flight?

No. One-one-hundreth of an ounce is the limit for cologne. Afterall, to much cologne is a form of terrorism.

Seriously, the real limit is 3 oz., so your 2.5 should be fine. Just be sure that it's labeled 2.5 oz. The difference between 2.5 and 3 can be difficult to determine visually especially if the bottle is an odd shape and arguing with the TSA guy when your flight is departing is a loosing battle.

What do you need 2.5 ounces of cologne on a domestic flight for anyway? Is your BO that bad?

Thanks, Chuck. Your contributions are always useful and to the point.

It's for my girlfriend. She's going on vacation for a week, and wants my scent with her.

Write the lady a really raunchy note describing in intimate detail all of the things you're gonna do to her when she gets back. Write it on a heavy, card-stock card, but not glossy-coated. Then, spritz it with the cologne, just a little. Let it dry. Spritz it again, just a little. Let it dry. Repeat several times. The goal is not to stain the card. Put that in an envelope and slip it into her bag.

I just had a 4 oz bottle taken from me on a trip from Denver to DC.

Bastards! It was good stuff too!

IMO even traces are waaaaay over the limit on a crowded plane or in an airport. Sometimes I hate flying just for having to smell that rank combination of everyones' perfume, cologne, soap, shampoo....etc...... Just nasty:barf: and we can't open the window to get some fresh air. Save it for the bedroom!
