ive been very interested in buying a kershaw 1900 off of ebay and since the knife is quite expensive i want to know if it will be legal for me to import it into canada. ive read canadian knife legislation and it states that any knife that is spring loaded with a button on the handle (ei. switchblades and such) are illegal to import and will be destroyed at the boarder. any help on this would be awesome

Can't speak for that model, but they confiscated my Blur. Meanwhile after that I bought one from an online dealer in Toronto.
Figure that one out.

From what I hear, legality doesn't seem to be the issue, just over-zealous customs officers.

^^^This... I've had the same problem as D-Roc as well. Had a Military seized at customs, then ordered it from a Canadian site. I guess that ordering from the US didn't save me any money in the long run haha.

I had three RAT-1's seized at the border, and those were the regular, un-assisted models. I wouldn't risk buying a more expensive knife right now from a US retailer, as sad as it is.

im not going to order the knife, too much money with too muck risk, going to order a 6$ knock off instead

I have found that Canada's knife laws are actually more relaxed than many US states....like a previous member mentioned, it's overzealous customs officers. I live on a CAF base, and I see new MPs acting like this all the time. But what do I know....I'm just,a tech....
