I just have bought a new 5011 and have never used it yet, but I found a flaw on handle. Is it the problem of the Finish of the knife? Or is it normal sympton of very KABAR knife?

Did you use a magnifying glass to see that? Doesn't look like much of a flaw to me, but hats off to Toooj for taking care of it.

omg.... how could that have left the factory??

Good on you Toooj, you and Ka-Bar are some really good people

Toooj perhaps the factory this defective knife came from should be shut down. Maybe even burned down. I mean, the gall of QC to let a knife with a ninetieth-of-an-inch little tiny ding escape out into the wild.... somebody probably paid over forty bucks for that knife! Why, in my village, that's a year's salary.

I've had $500 Busses with worse imperfections. I just sanded the micarta till it looked right.
But some folks buy with safe queens in mind. Kudos to Tooj and Ka-Bar for the replacement.

Gee, if you get any more of those "terrible defects", just send them to me and I'll find them a good home.:D

I'm a loss for words, for once. Well, other than 'Kudo's toooj, you handled that like a pro'...wow, just wow!

Good thing many new members are bringing their scanning electron microscopes to find these flaws. :D

Toooj,
You handled this a lot different than I would have. I guess I'm just not a good appeaser. You're a stand-up guy, though.

Okay, folks... show's over. Before the pile-on gets too large, I'm going to shut this one down.
The OP wasn't satisfied with his knife, Tooj is taking care of him, end of story.
