Is it odd that the Becker Forum has become my new Facebook?

I deactivated my FB profile about a month ago and its AWESOME!!

However, I have figured out that Blade Forums has replaced it. Who needs a stinking "like" button for everything Becker?

I got up this morning, cup of coffee, sat on the porch, checked the status of my Becker BK16 order and thought the same thing. I browse this forum like I'm reading the paper. I love it.

Too funny. I'm not on facebook and never have been. My wife is so it pretty much is like i am on it anyway. Funny thing is i used to say how bad it was to get up and have to go see whats new on fb and always checking it etc. and here i am with this being the first and sometimes the only site i visit multiple times a day.

It's like here but with less knives, more drama, and everyone has an agenda, usually involving a "cause" or some bs.

I don't have a FB page, but I do have a half dozen Beckers!

I resisted getting one for a long time. Finally, one of my real life friends convinced me to get one. Okay, I made it, put one pic of me and Mrs Spikehawk on it. Got all sorts of friend requests, a lot of people who I didn't know in real life. Got requests from people I went to high school with, 25 years ago and 1200 miles away. Haven't spoke to them since high school, and still didn't speak to them after friending them. Like Derek said, everyone had an agenda, and drama. To me, it's a big waste of time, and I killed the page a few years ago.

Mrs Spikehawk was getting a pedicure at the salon one day, and I dropped back in after doing some errands. She was talking to a lady next to her who mentioned FB. So I mentioned that we don't have FB pages, we think they are a stupid waste of time. This lady said that she just uses it to keep in touch with relatives up in New Jersey. So I say to her- "What, they don't have phones in New Jersey?"

BF won't sell your data to strangers.

BTW, it's refreshing and comforting to be around people who refuse to be a part of that idiotic fad.

I have a facebook, but I only have people added that I know off-line. I don't want spam bots clogging up my page. I use it to follow mostly my cooking and sports channels since I don't have TV it updates me as to what is going on with my Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks.

I have a fb, but I use it to keep up with my friends and family serving oversees. I check it every other day or so.
I basically live on BF though lol.

I knew we had something else in common...... C Company, 1/327INF (93-97) here.

You beat me to it.

Honestly I have have no wish to be stalked by people I went to high school with.

This is 1 of the reasons I left it. I have no desire to be friends with people who treated me like poop or ignored me back then.
