I've been carrying a Buck 307 in my pocket since the 70's. A grandson indident lost me the knife. I've purchased a 301 but not only doesn't it feel right in my pocket it's not big enough to suit me.
I have an opportunity to buy a used 307 but on inspection I note the blade number is 303t. The seller says it's the same as a 307 but I'm not so sure. If anybody can give me the benefit of their knowledge I'd appreciate it.

They don't quite look the same to me. the 307 is on the bottom.

Yeah, they aren't even close. a 303 is about 3.5" closed and the 307 Wrangler is 4 1/4" closed! :D

307's show up on Ebay regularly.

I myself, in my limited world, have never seen a 307 with a small nail nic. If it has a blade that is marked 303t and fills the blade well end to end you have an odd ball. With knife open NIB blade should measure 3 7/32 inches in length from bolster to blade tip. If its that long and marked 303 you have a real odd ball, and some ODD collector like me would want it......

I have five grandsons. During a fishing trip my oldest grandson dropped the knife in 200 feet of water. After calming down and then holding a funeral for the knife I had one of those long serious talks with the lad.

You know I have been on the recieving end of some of those "long serious talks" with my dad. I thought his tool box was full of oddly shaped hammers. Turns out some of those items were not hammers at all. Wrenches, screw drivers and such. That explains why some of them did not work very well as hammers....also explains why dad was so upset at me.

The 307 is quite a bit bigger than the 303 as shown in the post above. If you cant fine a 307, the 301 might do the trick for you. It is bigger than the 303 but still smaller than the 307. All three are 3 bladed stockmans, just diferent sizes.
I hope this helps.

wow...did you beat him?

That won't get the knife back... :grumpy:

No, you throw him overboard and tell him he can't get back in until he finds the knife... :D

Long serious talks won't do any good...they didn't do you or I any good; why should he be any different...

Wow Trax, 200 feet is one heck of a dive!![/QUOTE]

Not if you tie some bricks to his leg...the dive then goes very smoothly...you just have to hope he's fast an opening knots so he has enough time to look around.

just kidding, it's never good to beat little kids or to push them into the water.
