Is it possible to adjust / repair a proud blade?

I recently bought a single bladed knife (bought it used). The tip of the blade is just slightly proud to where it snags on stuff (fingers, pocket, etc...). Is it possible to adjust this after the knife is built? Or is it that once the knife is built, then it just is what it is and there is no fixing it? If it can be adjusted, I will send it to the manufacturer.

You can file the kick down a bit to make it ride lower. Just go slow so you don't take too much off.

I'm going to move this one to maintenance for a wider audience.

Can you post a picture? Depending on the original blade shape, I have also reprofiled the tip of a proud blade with a file. Here is a picture of a ladybug I did this to. After about 5 sharpenings it was starting to snag but was otherwise in good shape and I didn't care what the knife looked like as long as it was functional.

An easy fix....lower the "kick".

I'll third this suggestion, just make sure to take it slowly and not grind down too much. You'd then have to grind back into thicker metal in the blade, lowering cutting efficiency until you grind in a relief bevel or something.

Yes, you can almost grind a reverse tanto into it or something along those lines, but this also reduces the cutting edge.

Really depends on your preference.
