Is it possible to change the scales on my Buck Vantage Select?

Do they make replaceable scales for the Vantage Select line, or are they out there?
I was thinking Micarta or wood.

Not really. I think one would really make money if one did make scales for the Vantage, given how many there are out there.

There is a guy who posts here that does a pretty good job.

The scales would probably be 3 times the cost of the knife itself. :p I really like my Buck Vantage Select though. Nice looking blade, nothing complicated about it, and the price doesn't set you back.

As JAG says, it can be done but is kind of a pain. I made a few sets out of wood but have ended up keeping the originals on.

Here's some cherry wood:

Here is some cedar. These actually worked pretty good:

And some chestnut:

Those a really nice. I'll just have to stick with the originals but thanks for the nice pictures and great work.

I have the knife, Mr. Jag has details on its construction , he brought it to Idaho. 300

By the way, Jag, the stag handles you made freakin awesome. :)
Thank you. I only did a small and large in Stag, I still have the large with a Snake River Damascus blade and I carry it occasionally.

I really like that cedar BigHaze.
It's a Select cards94

I have a Vantage Avid Small, and though I like the really like the steel on the Avid, I prefer the matte G10 scales that were on my Avid Pro before I lost it. :( I'm considering sanding the dymondwood to see if it goes matte without looking like cardboard.

That Cedar handle looks amazing. I'd really like to know if it holds up ok in humidity and wetness, because I'm going to be re-scaling some knives and I have access to free cedar. Does it swell & shrink much?
