Is it possible to convert a cord-wrapped Strider into a G-10 Strider?

Just curious if this could be done. I was thinking that the holes drilled into the handle might preclude a conversion of this sort.

I was wondering the same thing... I suppose it would work by using the cord's holes for the new handle screws.
Does anyone know for sure, or even done it?

I think i heard a while back that it could not be retro'd, something to do with the fixing of the g10 slabs to the blade...something about tigerstripes not being an option on a g10 knife as well...
of course, I could be wrong...
cheers,
Derek

I read a post a while ago addressing this issue. Apparantly the G10 slabs are glued to the blade. The excess glue is then sandblasted off, which takes the tiger stripes with it.

I'm not too concerned about the tiger striping. I wonder if it can be done if you don't mind having a bead-blasted knife.

I do think SF'd offer a pair of G-10 slabs (sonething like the ones on Duane's D-9)as optional accessaries along with a few screws. Maybe the holes need to be threaded. This could be a limited editon.

Yes,
It costs a little.
And takes a while.

More than likely, we would have your knife for around two or three months.
