I have an old 1962 Clydes cutlery chef knife that the makers mark is really only visible in just the right light. So I’m wondering if there is a way to darken the mark in order to restore it to its former glory? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

You should be able to use gun blue on it and it will turn dark blue/black then lightly buff the blade to remove excess leaving the bluing in the logo.

This should be in maint n tinkering. But. I'd try baking soda n elbow grease. It restores a blade to its former glory in the most gentlist way. It will never cause harm even if it doesn't work.
