Is it possible to disable the assisted-opening feature on SOG knives?

Assisted-opening knives are illegal in NYC and many other places. Is there any way to disassemble an SOG knife to disable this feature?

If this isn't possible, does SOG sell non-a/o folding knives?

You can tighten the screw. Alot. And yeah, SOG sells alot of non AO knives.

Taking it apart really isn't that hard. Just get the right allen head and take apart the handle completely. Remove the spring (the one that goes around the pivot ... not the sliding lock spring.

I am pretty sure you can just do that, put it back together, and will still have very smooth action/lockup without having to tighten the pivot to the point where it's hard to open/close.
