Hi knife knuts
well anyway I have been collecting knives for a loooong time. My collection is varied and extensive. But recently I had a revelation do I have just one big knife collection or a collection of collections. For example, Under the overall catagory "knives" I collect Microtechs, Benchmades, Blackjacks, but we cant also forget my weakness towards neck knives (of all sorts) and Hawkbill blades. So what have I got??? I know the question is academic and probably stupid but hey its Sunday night, and at least a full 16 hrs before UPS delivers my three Wicked knife company neck knives. So whats your spin??

I still don't consider what I have as a "Collection", I mean I have knives, but not a whole bunch of one kind. I love stag and that's mostly what I try to buy. but I do get distracted. Right now I have 15 knives with stag handles; Bowies, hunters, daggers, a sub-hilt fighter, a skinner, and folders (sliplocks, lockback and liner lock). I've got three more coming a neck knife, boot knife and another dagger. They're made of production, customized, handmade and full out customs made to my drawings. So I seem to be all over the place. Not what I'd call a "Collection".

Just a bunch of knives

My Swiss Army knives have multiplied so much that they are a collection by themselves.

Congratulations you are in the process of becoming a more sophisticated collector:

1) First you put a few knives together into a knife collection
2) Then you decide you want to collect stockman knives
3) Soon thereafter you start to focus on greenbone stockman knives
4) Which leads to a collection of greenbone case stockman patterns......

And so on....

We all eventually end up with multiple collections. Then we have decide, which ones to focus our efforts on, and perhaps, which ones to sell or trade.
