Is it possible to get a decent straight razor for a 15 year old to start shaving at around 30-40 dollars? I want one that will last me for a little while and will be fine, not somthing that will fall apart. I like the dovo brand and I did find some on ebay for around 20-30 bucks and was wondering if those would work for what I need. If they aren't good please send me a link to a decent cheap straigh razor to start with.

i have picked up old razors for 7-14 bucks but they needed cleaned up and honed at the min. most the time i have put new handles on them aalso
have a look at bagger and blade forum or straight razor place in ther for sale (often they have starter "kits" for new guys

I've had great experiences at that place. I recommend you take the deal, just make sure it's shave ready.

It is, the man sent it out to be honed we assume they will be back soon they have been gone for 3 weeks now. Which is fine because I only get 10 bucks a week for allowence but I have his money so as soon as he gets them back I'm sending him the check.

I just received these three from eBay for about $30+ Canadian:

Granted, the handle on the black one is rough, and you have to be careful closing the orange one (the tip of the blade will hit the scales sometimes), and all three blades will need a little cleaning and sharpening, but given the price and vintage, I reckon it was probably a good deal. Old razors like this are apparently far superior to modern straights anywhere near this price range ( at least as I've read on razor sites ), It's the stones and strops that'll end up costin' a fella any real money.
