is it real?

I am not certain, but would suggest it was most likely not rehandled by Buck. Any number of people can and do rehandle knives. The blade is a two liner and that pre-dates most of the in-house modifications done by Buck employees. Again, it is possible that it was done in the Buck factory, but I do not think it is probable. We can wait and see what Joe says.

yes larry,
it was a few 2 dot mostly 4 dot knives and a few of the 86 to 92 years that i seen with the other scale materials like cow horn and deer antler and some with ablone shell and of course ivory. deer antler and cow horn seem to have been the ones i seen most often after ivory... you realy would not think the cow horn was as 'pirty' as it is !
joe or cj will likely chip in when one of them gets a break...

Its always so hard to tell on a knife like that. Usually, if it has inlay rivets, that means there is a good chance that it was done by Buck. But those inlay rivet heads are much bigger than the ones used back then. They look almost modern. I can't tell from the pictures but am wondering if it could have possibly been done recently?
