So, a fella has a Military for sale in exchange, and in his description he says it has a bit of play which is normal in Ti Militarys.
Irritates me, as my Ti Military has no play at all. Mine is old style, no steel tip on lockbar, which I think is same style as his.
Second time I recall that his ad has been on top.

Is a little bit of play normal on Ti Militarys?

From what I've read, yes it is rather common. Common meaning some, but not all. You should consider yourself lucky that yours is 100%.

The same can be said about sticky locks on para 2's. I've got two that have/had sticky locks, while some people have 10 of them and they're all perfect.

I've had two Ti Militaries and both had a small amount of play. Not enough to see, but you could feel it. I did some research here and on the Spyderco forum and found out it was a pretty common issue. Sold them both (for other reasons) and the buyers didn't think it was bad enough to complain about.

I have 3 Millies only 1 is a ti (m4). Mine locks very solid. I don't think blade movement is common on ti Milies. Why should it be ?!

What kind of movement do you have lock rock........

What is lock rock? I have only heard the phrase to describe something that happens to Strider knives. I for some reason thought it was specific to that brand.

I thought that was just vertical blade play. Didn't know the lock rocked on frame locks in most cases?

I just received a used one yesterday that had a weak lock. My other one that I bought new is rock solid. I took it apart last night and bent the lock bar, cleaned and lubed it up and it's good to go now. This one showed some pretty good wear on the ball detent so it was certainly used quite a bit.
