I have a Benchmade Fixed Griptilian with the BK1 coating. It currently is the lightweight knife I keep in my hiking bag, but I have new knife on the way that will take that role. I had planned to buy a very similar knife to the Benchmade to use as a hunting knife (Doug Ritter Mk3) but wondered if the Benchmade could serve the role? It is 154CM which seems like a good steel for the purpose but I wasn't sure how good of an idea it is to use a coated knife for skinning and gutting chores. What do you guys think?
