Is it worth buying this mini grip?

Let me start this off by saying I have never owned any benchmade knife before so I know clue if this is a good or bad deal.

I have an opportunity to buy a used mini grip for $35. It is a 440c plain edge blade with some small chips in the edge and on the tip. It shows some wear and tear but I don't mind that, it's gonna be a user if I buy it. Obviously I will have to reshape the edge a little but it's nothing I can't handle. Is the price right on this or what do you guys think?

Thanks

If I could buy a used BM Mini Grip in serviceable condition for $35 I would. I have a 440C Mini Grip and used the hell out of it, always sharpened up great and is still in great shape 10 years later. If it is a real BM and is not broken in some bad way IMO it has lost little value as a useable knife.

First off being 440 tells us its an old one, even being old its still a pretty dang good price, keep in mind for $5 you can send it into BM for lifesharp and they'll repair the edge to factory sharp.

Nope. Not worth it. Just give me their contact info and I'll buy it from them to save you the trouble. :D

Yes, that is a good price. Just send it to Benchmade along with $25 for a blade swap and you'll get back a mini-Grip with a new blade in 154CM steel, plus they'll go over the knife with a fine tooth comb, replacing anything that needs it. You'll basically receive a new knife for the sum total of $60 (plus shipping). You can't buy new ones for less than $85 now. Or...

keep the 440C blade and have one heck of a bargain.

Well I guess I'll be a benchmade owner very soon! Too bad they just did that BS price hike. I think this will be the only one I own until I find another good deal.
