Is it worth the $42 to get the leather pouch for small Sebenza ?

Just wondering since I will be getting a micarta and for EDC.
Is it better off in a pocker with the leather sleeve ?

Depends. I'm assuming you mean the belt pouch. Do you want one of those hanging on your belt? I would say that the knife would only be a little more protected in the pouch than in your pocket, unless you will be carrying it clipless in the same pocket you keep your change, for example.

Unless you mean the small leather slip case, in which case disregard this whole post ;)

I really like the CRK leather pouch. It is awesome, as I can carrymy large or small Sebbie in it. I also have a leather slip case for my large one too.

I clip mine in my pocket without any case. The clips are a little hard on the jeans though....

I can see that probably is worth it to keep your Sebenza in a leather case if you want to keep it in really nice condition, although I personally consider the micarta sebbies more of a work knife. I think the leather slip cases should be reserved for the wood inlays, unique graphics, LE wood inlays, all the sebenzas that could really be dinged up or scratch in the pocket. My sm. micarta rides in my pocket via the pocket clip, the only real wear to it is on the pocket clip and thats replaceable, as long as your not keeping keys, change, whatever in there the handle scales should be fine or free from any real scratches and dings.

I'm holding out for a pocket sheath with a clip (a la a pocket case for eyeglasses.) Just haven't found anything yet that fits the large Classic Seb, or that looks sufficiently inconspicuous.

would the large WH clip case be big enough?

Not quite... the large Seb is too long. I'm actually hoping more for something that really looks like an eyeglass case, including the wide clip, both to divert attention and to reduce wear on my pockets.

I keep meaning to fire off emails at Vess Leatherworks, but I'm waiting until I get some more cash saved up first. I just bought a titanium flashlight and my wallet is being emo about it.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I've never seen a glasses case with a clip.

I'm sure there is a custom leather worker around that will sort something (when you have the cash)

They're actually quite common... rectangular soft sheath with a plastic clip near the open end about half an inch wide, usually.

There's also the option of having a friend modify one of said sheaths to fit the Seb, but they aren't usually that durable and I won't trust it if it doesn't grip the knife and the pocket well.
