Is it wrong to steal a swamp rat?

So, my very good friend has an RMD LE with a sweet leather sheath that he just got, and he let me borrow it. I have it with me now. And despite my qualms about the look (double guard) and functionality of the knife in previous posts, I gotta be honest, I really don't plan on giving it back to him, this knife is awesome. Is that wrong?

I'm going to tell him I took it for a hike and I lost it in the fields. Is this something that you would do? I'm I a bad person?

Actually, I don't really care what anyone says, I may be a bad person, but I'm a bad person with an RMD LE!

And before you say it - "this is worthless without pics" - I'll post some pics in the very near future.

Well leme see ... Your buddy was good enough to let you borrow his knife, and your going to return that favor by stealing from him?

You have issues my friend. I think the term is "scumbag thief" for someone that would do something like that. Return your friends knife, its good karma. Hopefully someone will extend the same courtesy to you, if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Well, God is going to hate you, so if being denied entrance to the pearly gates is worth $138.95 I'd say go for it. ;) Seriously though, I think theft is really low and dont support it.

Right or wrong you should buy your own. They still have them for sale at the Swamp Rat store. It's less painful to buy your own Swamp Rat RatManDeux LE than to lose a pound of flesh.

Isn't that everyone's policy?

Id rather someone punch me in the face and then kick me in the nuts as hard as they could.

Just go buy one. Then there is no hard feelings, you don't have extra marks to explain to St. Peter, and people will not think ill of you.

Wow... People took this seriously!?

Knifes, serious business...

Wow, certainly got some peoples attention. I know you were only kidding but some people were honestly upset. must be a great blade to get those responses. I ordered one a week ago, should be getting it soon. And No, I do not recommend or condone stealing of anything... Have a good weekend people.

I do have a question though. When I ordered, could I have requested a specific serial #.? Does swamp Rat generally try to get the # that people requested? I ordered the Le for myself, and the RatMandu with tan micarta and black blade for my son. Post office says there in Peurto Rico now. I cannot wait for them to get here in massachusetts. Dont know why they went from Ky to louisville, then on to PR.. The specific serial #'s would be great, but I imagine a pain in the A** for them. Thanks..

Yeah, very seriously.

Dude is my best friend, I'd give him the shirt off my back... I don't think many of you understand the dynamics of our friendship, we mess around with each other a lot. Will I really steal his RMD LE - no. I'll just borrow it for a really long time.

For real though, if I did steal it, we hang out enough (hunting, fishing, etc) where he'd realize i stole it from him and probably steal it back along with something else. So, it's not what many of you think.

But, I love the passion. And I still have to post those pics...

No kidding eh? That sixth sense, the sense of humor, is seriously lacking lately.

Go for it.
Me personally? I enjoy sleeping unburdened of guilt. But then again, I am burdened with a concience which means I'm not a sociopath and can't justify dishonoring a friend's trust.
If I were, I'm sure I'd have far more money and far fewer true friends.
In the end, for me, it is far easier just to buy the fu**ing thing. Less hassle.
