Is kershaw skyline linear lock secure?

From looking at pictures and videos of the kershaw skyline, I have noticed that the liner doesn't seem to bend that much when it is locked and seems like it's barely hanging on. it looks like it will slip any second because if it moves even by a bit, it will close.

compared to other cheap knives like spyderco persistence/tenacious, the locks look much weaker.

is this true??

No liner lock, frame lock, axis lock, triad lock or lock back is secure against hard use. All are secure against accidental closing when performing cutting tasks. If you intend a hard use knife, go for fixed blade. Kershaw lockup is as secure as any other maker out there, but none of them are that secure.

The skyline was designed as an ultra lightweight, light to medium duty knife. The lock is way stronger than any tasks it was designed to handle would dish out.

To be honest, I don't think the Skyline would be one of Kershaw's most loved designs if it wasn't a solid little knife.

As with anything in life, I would say pick one up and try it out for yourself. One can only tell so much from pictures and videos. And if you're on the fence about paying full price for one, hit up kershawguy.com. He carries blem models at awesome prices. That way if it's not the knife for you, you're not out as much cash.
